Bhubaneswar: The star studded Uttar Pradesh Ranji cricket squad today arrived in the state capital. The UP squad faces hosts Odisha at Sambalpur stadium in an Elite Division group match on November 17. Team India pacer Rudra Pratap Singh is the captain of the UP team which includes Piyush Chawla and Sudeep Tyagi.
Odisha having lost humiliatingly to Punjab in the second encounter at Mohali-the first match against baroda ended in a draw-faces Uttar Pradesh in their third match of the season and it is said to be a do or die battle for the team. Odisha with no points so far in the season faces the danger of sliding down still further next season. UP with six points from two matches would fight for their third consecutive win. Of course, both Suresh Raina and Praveen Kumar, waiting to be recalled to Team India for the test series against West Indies will not be playing against the hosts at Sambalpur.
