Lioness dies at Van Vihar national park

Jamuna was not keeping well for the last two weeks and was being treated there for her various old age related disorders at the rescue centre.

Van Vihar, Assistant Director, S K Waghmare said the post-mortem reports revealed that the death was caused due to respiratory disorder.

The animal, which passed away yesterday was brought here from Gorakhpur after being rescued from Gemini circus where she was the part of the performing contingent.

After being brought from from Gorakhpur the lioness was kept at the rescue centre and was not available for visitors.
