Mahanadi water row: NGT reprimands Odisha, C’garh as they fail to depose

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) slammed four parties including Odisha and Chhattisgarh states in a case regarding the Mahanadi water row filed before it during a hearing for their failure to depose in the green court today.

The NGT also warned of strict action against the four parties including Odisha and Chhattisgarh if they could not appear during the next hearing fixed on April 10.

During today’s hearing, the green court also directed the Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Ministry of Water Resources to present their side before April 10 on the petition filed by social activist Sudarsan Das on the Mahanadi water controversy.

Notably, representatives of the Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Ministry of Water Resources were present during the NGT hearing today.
