As many as 78 persons from Banapur and Balugaon areas in Khordha district have been duped to the tune of lakhs of rupees by the ‘fraud’ travel agency.
The inter-state job racket was being run from Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad but was operating in at least 6 States - Odisha, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Police sources said the nine arrested accused mostly belong from three states- Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. After contacting the aspirants, the gang members used to take them to various hotels by buses.
The accused duped job aspirants by opening a consultancy firm Near Hanspal in Bhubaneswar. However, he was arrested after one of the job aspirants lodged a complaint against him accusing Palai of cheating.
As per allegations, several aspirants have fallen prey to the fake job racket in which the scamsters promised them jobs in Sundargarh Government Medical College.
The EOW in a release said that one of the victims was promised a clerk post at Raj Bhawan, the official residence of Odisha Governor, for a monthly salary of Rs 34,000.

As per reports, the accused is the developer of the website - www.grks.org of “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan” which was used to float fake advertisements for jobs.
Tiwari is the main associate of Dharmapal Singh, who is the mastermind of the job fraud racket. Singh was earlier arrested and produced before the court recently.
Senior EOW officials said the scamsters had developed a website which resembled a Government website displaying the Government- like job advertisements.

The accused, identified as Arpit Panchal, was arrested from Jaora area on January 10 and has been produced before Bhubaneswar SJDM court after being brought on a transit remand.

Badambadi police said the raid was conducted based on three complaints filed by the victims of job fraud.
