Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated the “Mo Bidyut” portal and app under the government’s 5T initiative through video conferencing to facilitate electricity consumers in the state.

As per the reports, consumers can avail electricity connections up to 5 Kilowatt through the app. Besides consumers can also pay their electricity bills and submit grievances through the app.

Launching the application that would reportedly be available in Google Play Store shortly, Patnaik said, “From now on, people will not have to run to the electricity office for new connections. It will be done from the comfort of their homes.”

The initiative aims to benefit 89 Lakh consumers in the state.

The Chairman of GRIDCO said, “The portal will facilitate domestic, commercial, farming, irrigation category consumers to get new electricity connection within 48 hours.”
