Thunderstorm with lightning alert for several Odisha districts, check updates

After witnessing flood for a few days, Odisha is currently experiencing a dry spell which has also attributed to the rise in maximum (day) temperature.

Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius on Sunday. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of Odisha will experience light to moderate rainfall with possibility of thunderstorm in some parts in the next 24 hours.

A ‘yellow warning’ for thunderstorm with lightning has been issued for several districts of Odisha till September 2, 2022.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.08.2022) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati ,Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri,Gajapati, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.08.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.09.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 02.09.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada ,Balangir, Kalahandi , Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal.
