UPSC is a very difficult exam to crack. And hence whenever a candidate manages to succeed in the first attempt it is considered highly creditable. IAS officer Anshuman Raj is one such administrative officer who passed the Civil Services in his first attempt despite facing difficult situations in his personal life. And that is why his life is so inspirational.

Anshuman was born in a small village of Buxor in Bihar and hence has led a very simple life. After completing his schooling locally at Navodaya School he completed his 12th and graduation from Ranchi. Due to severe circumstances until the 10th, he had to study in the light of a lamp at night. Even during his graduation, Anshuman lacked many resources that usually a common student enjoys. But with strong support from his parents and with great determination he managed to complete his studies and overcome the challenges that he faced due to poverty.

And this determination and dedication helped him to clear the Civil Services on the first attempt. For the administrative services, he decided to focus on self-study. He became successful and was selected for IRS. But he was not satisfied. That is why Anshuman decided to give it another try for the UPSC exam so that he can fulfill his dream of becoming an IAS officer .

He gave the exam multiple times so that he can get the desired post and ranking and finally his 4th attempt was successful. Thus, despite passing the Civil Services examination in the first attempt he did not rest and continued to give exams and learn from his experiences to finally become an IAS officer which he always dreamt of.

In his message for the IAS aspirants, Anshuman Raj said that it is not necessary for candidates to take coaching from big cities. They can become successful in their home by making the right use of the internet and emphasizing regular self-study.
