Inaugural edition of the much-awaited Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 will kick-start in Navi Mumbai on Saturday.
A total of five teams will take part in the tournament. Three of those teams are franchises from the Indian Premier League (IPL). UP Warriors and Gujarat Giants are the two new franchises that have joined the women’s version of the competition. A total of 22 matches will be played in the tournament and the final match will be played on March 26.
WPL has become the second most valuable domestic women’s sport competition globally after US professional basketball.

The development seems to have left the fans stunned in view of their recent feud on social media.
