Video of Jonty Rhodes touching Sachin Tendulkar’s feet goes viral amid Kohli- Gambhir fight - watch

Following the ugly altercation between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli and  Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir, a debate regarding the players giving respect to each other has intensified over various social media platforms.

Several fans and experts are found deliberating on how far the aggression of the players on the cricket field is acceptable. Amid all these discussions, an old video involving former South African great fielder Jonty Rhodes and Indian legendry batsman Sachin Tendulkar is going viral on social media. The video, capturing a great moment, is winning the hearts of the fans. 

This video is from the 2022 season of Indian Premier League (IPL). After the completion of the match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians in which Mumbai had to face defeat, the players of both the teams were shaking hands with each other. When Mumbai ’s mentor Sachin faced Jonty, the South African great tried to touch the feet of Sachin. However, Sachin promptly prevented Jonty from doing so and hugged him.

The old video has gone viral again touching the hearts of several fans. It seems fans are trying to make players realise the ‘spirit of cricket’ by showering their love on the great act shown by two former great cricketers in the old video.

Notably, when Rhodes used to play cricket, he used to compete fiercely against Sachin on the cricket field. However, both the great cricketers used to give a lot of respect to each other both on and off the field.
