Star Australian batsman Steve Smith showed his tennis prowess during an exhibition event at Melbourne Park. Even tennis superstar Novak Djokovic was impressed with Smith’s cricket skills before the start of Australian Open.

Smith showcased his brilliant tennis skills on the court alongside the 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic. The premier Australian batsman ignited his well-known competitive spirit at Rod Laver Arena in front of the audience.

Smith and Australian middle-distance runner Peter Bol joined Djokovic for this special event as part of the charity matches leading up to the Australian Open.

Djokovic delivered a soft serve directed at Steve Smith’s body, prompting the Australian cricketer to showcase remarkable footwork, skillfully evading the ball and delivering a precise return that landed within the court boundaries.

The video clip of the match between Smith and Djokovic has gone viral over various social media platforms.

In the video, Djokovic is seen appreciating a shot of Smith. He even clapped and bowed down in acknowledgment of the star cricketer’s impressive return.

The video clip has garnered more than 4.2 k likes on Social media platform X (earlier known as Twitter).

Moreover, Djoker (as Djokovic is popularly known) also turned cricketer during the event. On a video clip shared on X, Djokovic was found beaten while facing a ball. While facing the next ball, he threw away the bat suddenly and picked up his tennis racquet to hit the ball for a six amid loud cheer from audience. This video clip has also gone viral over various social media platforms.

Notably, the Australian Open is set to commence on January 14.
