Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli had requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to exclude him from the first two matches of the ongoing five match Test series against England due to personal reasons.

Fans were expecting Kohli’s return to the Indian team for the third Test against the visitors. However, in a surprising turn of events, Kohli’s availability for the third Test against England remains uncertain.

As per reports, Kohli may extend his leave. The development has left the cricketing fraternity and fans in suspense. BCCI is yet to receive confirmation on Kohli’s participation, following his withdrawal from the first two Tests due to personal reasons.

Earlier a day before, Kohli’s former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers had made a revelation behind Kohli’s absence in the series against England.

According to De Villiers, “Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their 2nd child, so Virat is spending time with his family.”

Notably, BCCI has requested the fans to respect the privacy of Kohli. Right-handed batsman Rajat Patidar has been called as Kohli’s replacement for the first two Tests.
