Sri Lankan left-arm fast bowler Isuru Udana had a lucky escape as he came dangerously close to a snake that had entered the field during a recent match in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 at the R Premadasa Stadium.

The speedster was spooked by the snake’s presence while fielding at the boundary. His expression signalled he was lucky to escape an attack from the reptile.

The clip of the video has reportedly gone viral over various social media platforms. The video has garnered around 88k views on Twitter. Several fans have showered interesting comments on the comment box.

Reacting to the incident, a fan wrote, “LPL showcasing natural fauna of SL.”

“Looks like ‘Ptyas mucosa’ non venomous snake,” another fan tweeted.

“It seems there will be more snake shows in Asia cup,” a third user commented in jest.

Earlier another video clip had surfaced over various social media platforms in which a snake was spotted beyond the boundary rope. A week ago, during the match between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura in Colombo, play had to be halted as the snake invaded the ground. The match officials had to wait before the ground staff rendered the ground fit to play.
