Jonty Rhodes claims this Indian cricketer is the best fielder in the world

Former South African great Jonty Rhodes is known as the all-time best fielder in the world. He has been appointed as the fielding coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Jonty has made a massive statement ahead of the IPL 2023. During an interview, the South African legend was asked to pick the best three fielders of the game currently. Responding to the question, the former great fielder said that there is only one great fielder right now and that happens to be India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who will play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2023.

“We know fielding is very important and it is a matter of discipline to learn good techniques. One of them is the ability to move laterally and sideways as cricket is a very straight line game. Whether you are batting or bowling, everybody is moving in a straight line. To be a good fielder, you need agility to change directions. Secondly, you need to have good anticipation which does not mean faster reflexes. Good anticipation means you expect every ball to come to you,” said Jonty.

“Jadeja has all these skills and abilities. He is of course the greatest fielder among the current crop of cricketers across the globe,” he added.
