Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain and star player MS Dhoni was recently found limping during a training session at Chepauk. The franchise and fans were genuinely concerned over the development ahead of the start of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.

As per reports, the ‘Captain Cool’ was reluctant to take the net session and wore a camouflage kneecap to partially shield his left leg. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman then stretched and pressed his leg towards the ground to assess his condition. Then he walked out to the nets with a roar from the crowd.

Dhoni was also seen running gingerly. He felt discomfort in his knee and often paused midway while completing a run. CSK is now sweating over the fitness of Dhoni. The fans are also worried a lot as they were eagerly waiting to see Dhoni in action on the ground following a gap of one year.

Notably, CSK will take on Gujarat Lions in the season opener of IPL 2023 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31.

Though speculations are rife that Dhoni will retire from IPL after the 2023 edition, his former India and CSK teammates Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh have indicated that the star cricketer may continue playing in the cash-rich league beyond 2023 depending upon his fitness and performances in the current edition.
