Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Jaydev Unadkat scripted a unique record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after his team locked horns with Delhi Capitals in their opening encounter on Saturday.

The Indian pacer broke the Indian record of representing most teams in the cash-rich league. Lucknow Super Giants is the seventh team for Unadkat in the mega event. Among Indian players, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan, Parthiv Patel, Ishant Sharma and Dinesh Karthik have represented six teams each.

However, the record for playing for most franchises in the cash-rich league still belongs to former Australian skipper Aaron Finch. The burly batter has represented nine franchises in the mega event.

Notably, Unadkat started his IPL career with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020. He was also part of the team that won the 2012 title. He represented Royal Challengers Bangalore. Later, he went on to play for the then-Delhi Daredevils in 2014 and 2015.

Unadkat was part of the Rising Pune Supergiant side in 2017 and then joined Rajasthan Royals for a whooping INR 11.5 crore in the following year. The speedster moved to the Mumbai Indians (MI) after the IPL 2022 mega auction. However, the Super Giants bought him ahead of the 2023 edition.
