Jasprit Bumrah is now the premier speedster of Indian cricket team. The match winner is the triumph card for the Men in Blue in the bowling department. Be it any format of the game, Bumrah’s unique action is pretty difficult for rival batters to read.

Earlier, India used to struggle in the pace bowling department. However, with the emergence of the unorthodox pacer, India are easily among the top three teams when it comes to pace bowling.

However, there was a time when Bumrah, who hails from Gujarat, wanted to move to Canada for better opportunities. But then he was included in the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the rest is what they call history.

During an interaction Bumrah’s wife Sanjana asked, “You wanted to go to Canada and set up a new life there?”

In reply, Bumrah said, “We have had these conversations before. Every boy wants to make it big and play cricket. Every street has 25 players who want to play for India. You have to have a backup plan. Our relatives live there. I thought I will finish my education and...my uncle lives there. First we thought we would go as a family, then my mum did not want to go there as it’s a different culture. I am very happy and very lucky that things worked out. Otherwise, I don’t know I would have tried to play for the Canadian team and do something there as well. Glad it worked out here. I am playing for the Indian team and Mumbai Indians.”
