Former Team India and current Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is widely regarded as one of India’s greatest captains. He is the only Indian skipper to lift all  the ICC trophies so far  including ODI and T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, and the Test Mace.

For his calm approach during the tense situation of match, Dhoni is known as ‘Captain Cool’.  The veteran wicket-keeper batsman is currently leading CSK in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He is one of the most sought-after players among the cricketers participating in the season. Dhoni is often seen having a word with the younger generation of players after the completion of the games.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul, who has been sidelined from IPL 2023 due to injury, has recently opened up on playing under Dhoni for India. As per Rahul, it was vital for him to start his career under Dhoni’s captaincy. Rahul also revealed that he learnt many things under Dhoni’s tutelage.

“Dhoni was my first captain. I have seen how he has handled the team, the calmness and the things that he does behind the scenes. Building the relationship with each person is something I have learnt from him. You need to build a relationship where these boys will fight for you, and with you,” said Rahul.

“It’s probably every cricket lover’s dream to be in the dressing room and be captained by great Dhoni. He is very simple in his approach, what you see is what you get. Even on the field, he is very calm. It’s not just that he is being that way. He is very balanced in everything that he does,” the stylish batter added.
