Rajasthan Royals (RR) suffered a defeat against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a tough encounter of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on a slow surface at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday.

Though Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson was run out in the match, team’s former coach and Indian domestic legend Amol Muzumdar took a dig at him. He also slammed other batters of the team as well.

As per Mazumdar, RR lack a batter who can adapt to certain game situations and it was one of the primary reasons behind their loss against LSG.

“There is something called muscle memory. Somebody like Samson is a classic case of see-the-ball, hit-the-ball. He is not worried about consequences. He is being as brave as possible, daring to score those boundaries and sixes. These are modern-day cricketers, Sanju, Yashasvi Jaiswal and even Devdutt Padikkal to an extent. RR don’t have the kind of player who could adapt and play the different role on this kind of surface,” said Mazumdar during an interview.

Earlier, former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh had heaped praise on Samson by comparing him with no other than former India captain and legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. Bhajji had also pleaded for Samson’s inclusion in the Indian team.
