Star batsman Virat Kohli opted out of the Test series against England due to personal reasons. He is currently in London with wife Anushka Sharma, who recently gave birth to their second child, Akaay.

Several other key players also missed the home series. Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami and experienced batsman KL Rahul are injured and nothing much can be said or done about them.

Meanwhile, former India great Sunil Gavaskar has taken a dig at Kohli for missing games against the Ben Stokes-led team. As per the legendry batsman, India can win without big names, and the team has shown this in the battle against the visiting English side.

Hosts India are currently leading the series by a margin of 3-1 with just one game left.

Though, the Little Master didn’t take Kohli’s name directly, it seems he was hitting out at the former captain as he is the only one out for personal reasons.

“India can win against any team without big names. If a player thinks a team can’t win without his services, he is wrong, and the Indian team has shown this against England,” said Gavaskar.
