Despite Rohit Sharma’s heroics, India lost the ODI series to Bangladesh on Wednesday leaving the fans dejected.

Rohit, though sustained injuries in his left thumb, played a spectacular knock almost snatching the victory from the claws of the Bangla Tigers, their grip was tight enough.

In the process, Rohit became the first Indian batter in the history of cricket to hit 500 sixes in international cricket during the match. Rohit reached this huge milestone in his 428th match and broke the record of Chris Gayle, who achieved a similar feat in 447 international matches.

No other Indian batter has more than 400 sixes. Former Indian captain MS Dhoni with 359 sixes is the closest to Rohit among Indian players.

While the fans celebrated and praised Rohit’s efforts, they were not happy with India’s batting performance which failed to chase a customary target.

In response to Rohit’s fighting knock and India’s loss, there were some interesting and praising tweets, alongside hilarious memes.

“Opener on most days but a fighter when his country needs him the most. Well done, Rohit Sharma,” commented Rajasthan Royals.

“The Injury Always Makes you Legends,” wrote a fan.

“Massive respect for Rohit. Hope he would have cross the line it would have been his best. Hope he would have come earlier. Captain setting the eg for others. This is what we needed from Rohit. Don’t worry future is in safe hands,” another fan commented.
