Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan took a hilarious catch to send Shakib Al Hasan back into pavilion during the 17th over of the Bangladesh innings in the second ODI match at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday. It was certainly a sight to behold for the fans.

Opting to bat first, the hosts were on back foot with loss of early wickets. They desperately needed Shakib to come good. However, left-handed batter was shaken by the express speed of tearaway pacer Umran Malik. He tried to up the tempo against the spin of Washington Sundar but ended up hitting it high up in the air. Dhawan was the man under the ball but it slipped between his fingers.

Washington was upset and down on the ground. However, Dhawan still managed to catch the ball with his knee. After getting slipped off his hands, the ball got stuck between the knees of the fielder. It was a strange and never-seen-before catch on a cricket field.

Watch the hilarious catch below:

Bangladesh were eventually restricted to 272 in the stipulated 50 overs for the loss of seven wickets with Mehidy Hasan Miraz (100 no, 83b, 8x4, 4x4) hitting a fighting unbeaten century. However, it was proved to be enough for the visitors as the Men in Blue could manage only 266 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted overs.

Injured Rohit Sharma (51 no, 28b, 3x4, 5x6) was forced to bat as India lost wickets at regular intervals during their chase. The right-hander made a valiant effort, but could not help India cross the line.
