Team India’s senior batsman Cheteshwar Pujara’s scintillating form in the English County league continued. The Test batter scored his third century in four matches for Sussex against Worcestershire on Friday.

Most dependable Pujara is lifting Sussex with his brilliant batting since his arrival for County cricket this season. In his first match for Sussex, Pujara slammed a ton against Durham. He scored 115 and 35 in both the innings respectively to help his side register a two-wicket win.

However, in the next match, the Indian batter failed miserably as he failed to open his account in both innings against Yorkshire. In his next match against Gloucestershire, Pujara bounced back strongly to score 151 off 238 balls with 20 fours and two sixes.

In his next match against Worcestershire, Pujara hit a brilliant century of 136 runs off just 189 balls with the help of 19 fours and one six. Pujara’s ton helped his side script a memorable victory.

Pujara’s brilliant form is great news for the Indian team who will lock horns with the formidable Australians in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final. The high-voltage match will be played at the Oval in England from June 7-11.

When the Indian team is grappling with injuries, Pujara’s form could be a great solace for the all-important ICC event.
