With a fortnight remaining before Odisha goes to the Panchayat Polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has switched to an all out poll mode with a string of Union Ministers and top leaders beginning to descent on the campaign trail.

The BJP which has decided to go all digital in its campaign in an effort to reach out to more people in the short time, will launch its star campaigners at different places of the State for the purpose.

Speaking about the campaign, BJP leader Gollak Mohapatra said, “Our leaders have already started addressing the people over various social media platforms like twitter and facebook. We have shortlisted the names of the campaigners who will be sent to different places from tomorrow.”

“The Central leaders will include Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani, Giriraj Singh, Narendra Singh Tomar etc. who will start the digital campaign for the elections,” Mohapatra added.

However, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) downplayed the chances of the BJP winning the polls by stating that the saffron party as far away from the heat and dust of Odisha.

Speaking to the reporters, BJD’s Amar Satapathy said, “They come during every election. Their Central leaders were here during the last Assembly elections as well. But the results are for all to see.”

“The voters have already made up their mind. The BJP is never close to the voters at the grass root level. They are coming here only to encourage their workers. The voters will not be influenced by it,” he added.

The three tier Panchayat polls will be held in Odisha starting from February 16, 2022.

The polling will be held with a gap of one day between each date on February 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24.
