These days, Anmol Ankita, a resident of Kalahandi district, is lapping up words of praise and appreciation pouring in from all quarters.

She recently delivered a talk on India’s former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in the Parliament House (Sansad Bhawan) and left all the invited dignitaries present in the House glued to their seats.

Anmol was the lone candidate selected from Odisha to participate in the programme organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and conducted by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.

While a total of eight speakers from 29 states were selected to speak on the former Prime Minister of India, Anmol in her speech touched on various important aspects of the leader like women empowerment, social equity, green and white revolutions, his farsightedness and dedication towards the nation and won hearts of one and all present in the House.

“The completion was organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs through Pride India. Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan conducted the competitions. I had participated in the district-level competition held in Kalahandi and stood first. Then I took part in the state-level competition where participants from 29 districts participated. There, I came out as the first. Then a competition was held among the state tops from 29 states. From amongst them, eight were selected as speakers,” said a visibly elated Anmol.
