With there being no Covid restrictions this year, clubs and hotels in cities across Odisha are leaving no stone unturned to make the zero night celebration a memorable one for the city dwellers. And the city dwellers are also in no mood to let go the moment arriving after three years.   

The countdown for the New Year Celebration has already started. And the preparations at hotels and clubs in Sambalpur city are at the final stages. While they have been beautifully decked up with balloons, festoons and glittering colourful lights, the chefs at the hotels are busy finalizing the menu for their valued customers. 

At the same time, Rourkela and Balasore cities are also not lagging behind. The hotels and clubs in these two cities have already made special arrangements to welcome the moment. DJs, Singers and Dancers from Kolkata and Mumbai have been roped in to entertain people. This year, the oldest club in Rourkela, Brahmani Club has also come up with special programmes for zero night celebration. 

“This year there are no Covid related restrictions. However, keeping the safety of people in view, we are celebrating the Zero Night this year. We have scintillating cultural programmes by artistes from Mumbai and Kolkata in store for the people,” said Subrat Patnaik, general secretary, Brahmani Club. 

The hotels, clubs and restaurants in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are also all set to welcome the New Year 2023. 

In Bhubaneswar, Swosti Premium, Mayfair, Pushpak, Hotel Hindustan International (HHI), Empires Hotel and several others have their programmes ready to host the celebrations.

In Cuttack, OCA Club in Cuttack has arranged special programmes. To lift the mood of celebration to a higher level, the club has already roped in famous singer Ruturaj Mohanty, dancer Harihar and Russian dancers. Cuttack Club and Union Club are also all set to enthrall people as it has roped in a popular dance troupe from Mumbai. 

The silk City Berhampur is also brimming with the celebration mood. The reputed hotels, restaurants and clubs have well planned programmes to entertain the people. 

“People who will come to our hotel will enjoy the party to the hilt. They will sing and dance here. This apart, we are offering an array of Indian, Continental, Chinese, Tandoor etc food items of for them. They will also relish them on this special occasion,” said Nitin Das, staff of Hotel Heartbeat. 

“Our artistes are coming from West Bengal and Bhubaneswar to make the moment memorable. This apart, there will be mouth watering dishes for the customers,” said Srinivas, president of Union Club. 

At the same time, devotees in large number are also turning up at Puri Srimandir. It is expected that there will be huge rush at Srimandir on January 1 and 2.
