A designer from Odisha, Bansi Lal Ketki has won the logo designing competition organised by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for its Puneet Sagar Abhiyan.

Ketki’s logo was selected among 5,000 other contestants who took part in the competition. His logo will now be used in the banners of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan.

He was felicitated and got a cash prize of Rs 50,000 at an event held on the CRPF campus in Bhubaneswar on Friday.

Speaking to the reporters, Ketki said, “If you come first in 5000 people, you will definitely feel happy. And I have the same emotions currently. Everybody wants to score the highest in every competition and I am sure, all other contestants have designed good logos too. But my design was selected, so I feel privileged.”

Odisha NCC Director, Sumeet Bannerjee said, “Today’s event was organised to felicitate the person who has designed the logo. This competition started about six months back. And we are lucky that somebody from Odisha got selected.”

“Ketki’s emblem got selected among 5000 others and he also got a cash reward of Rs 50,000,” Bannerjee added.

The NCC had launched Puneet Sagar Abhiyan on December 1 last year. The aim of the campaign is to clean sea shores from plastic and other waste material and create awareness on the importance of keeping the beaches and river fronts clean.

According to the Defence Ministry, 3.4 lakh NCC cadets from 127 coastal area NCC units have so far collected approximately six tons of plastic waste. The collected plastic wastes will be handed over to NHAI, which afterwards, will be used in road construction.
