  • A video clip that shows a TTE thrashing a passenger brutally surfaced online today.
  • Enraged social media users have urged Ashwini Vaishnaw to take immediate strict action.

A shocking video clip of a railway TTE thrashing a passenger traveling without a ticket has found its way to the internet. The clip shows the TTE brutally thrashing the passenger and even shouting at him aggressively. What is more, the railway official did not even give the passenger a chance to speak out and when his co-passengers requested him to stop slapping the young man, he even approached them aggressively.

The act is so brutal and inhuman that all the social media users have immediately started demanding that Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw suspend the TTE. A user has demanded that the railway should not only suspend him but also stop his pension and file a case against him for behaving in such a violent way with a passenger.

Another user said that middle-class people tend to act aggressively with poor people but no one has a right to behave in this way with a passenger and it should be considered a crime. Most of the users said that railway officials are expected to cooperate and help the travellers and not punish or humiliate them in this way.

It is not the first time that the demand to suspend or terminate a TTE has been made through social media. In March last year, the Union Railway Minister notified through Twitter (now X) that a TTE had been terminated for urinating on a female passenger while he was officially on duty on the Kolkata-Amritsar Akal Takht Express.

Hopefully, strict action will be taken by the Union Railway Minister soon on the TTE who behaved in this way. Strong action against such behaviour from the railway staff is needed to curb such wrong and indecent behaviour or else this can turn into a menace for innocent passengers.

Later in the day, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw suspended the TTE for assaulting the passengers.
