Indian Coast Guard has invited application from eligible male candidates for recruitment to the post in Navik (General Duty) and Yantrik.

The application process has already commenced and the last date to apply for the post is July 3, 2024.

  • Navik (GD): 260 posts

  • Yantrik (Mechanical): 33 posts

  • Yantrik (Electrical): 18 posts

  • Yantrik (Electronics): 9 posts

Educational Qualification

The eligibility criteria for Navik (General Duty) and Yantrik positions are as follows: 

Navik (General Duty) requires candidates to have passed Class 12th with Mathematics and Physics from a board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE). 

For Yantrik, candidates must either have completed Class 10th from a COBSE-recognized board and a 3 or 4-year Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), or have passed both Class 10th and Class 12th from COBSE-recognized boards and a 2 or 3-year AICTE-approved Diploma in the specified engineering disciplines. These qualifications are essential for candidates seeking to apply for these respective positions.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for the positions of Navik (General Duty) and Yantrik must meet the age criteria of being minimum 18 years old and maximum 22 years old. 

They should have been born between 01 March 2003 and 28 February 2007 (both dates inclusive). 

It is important to note that upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates is applicable only if these posts are specifically reserved for them.

Examination fee

  • For Other: Rs 300

  • For SC/ST candidates: Nil

Medical Standards

Medical examination will be conducted by authorized Medical Officers of Defence Forces according to the current regulations applicable to Enrolled Personnel upon entry.

Height: The minimum height requirement is 157 cms. Candidates from Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Garhwal, Sikkim, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands may have their height standards reduced by up to 05 cms below 157 cms. Candidates from Lakshadweep may have their height standards reduced by up to 02 cms

Chest: It should be well proportioned with a minimum expansion of 5 cms

Weight: Weight should be proportionate to height and age, with a tolerance of up to +10%

Hearing: Normal hearing is required
