Ayurveda says that every individual’s body has three active energies that are also known as doshas. These three doshas are Vata dosha, pitta dosha, and kapha dosha. When there is an imbalance in either of these doshas, it can lead to various health issues.

If you are experiencing health problems like inflammation, heartburn, body odour, increased thirst and hunger, acid reflux, anger, and frustration it can be an indication that there is an imbalance in your pitta levels. By making a few changes in your lifestyle and food habits you can slowly recover from this imbalance which ultimately will also eliminate the related health issues from your life.

Consume naturally cooling foods

To balance pitta dosha you must consume naturally cooling foods like cucumber, peas, ghee, coconut, pumpkin, cilantro, cauliflower, leafy greens, and apples in your daily diet.

Almonds are good for pitta dosha

Almonds are extremely good to balance pitta dosha. However, you must soak them for at least 4 to 6 hours, peel the skin and then eat them for better results. Adding almond oil to your milk or salad is another way of cooling down your body.

Avoid spicy, sour and hot food items

Eating hot, sour, or spicy items can trigger pitta dosha. If you are already suffering from problems due to increased heat in the body, then you must avoid such foods.

Stay hydrated

If you fail to drink enough water especially when it is hot outside, then it can also trigger pitta problems. The first thing that you must do when you start feeling pitta imbalance symptoms like heartburn and acidity is to increase your intake of water.

Drink cool beverages

Apart from keeping your body hydrated, you must also keep on drinking beverages that have a cooling effect on your body such as coconut water or mint/cucumber-infused elixir. You can also consume herbal teas such as chamomile, mint, or coriander teas to keep your body cool.

Add spices to your diet

Spices like fennel, coriander, and cardamom are naturally cooling agents, and adding them to your diet helps to balance the pitta dosha.
