On the second day of the ongoing Kalinga Literary Festival in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Television Network’s Managing Director and Co-Founder Jagi Mangat Panda launched Indian author and screenwriter Satyarth Nayak’s latest book titled 'Mahagatha: 100 Tales from the Puranas' on Saturday.

As the title suggests, the book is a collection of 100 lesser-known stories from the Puranas in chronological order, starting from Creation in Satya Yuga and ending with the Kali Yuga. The book is in English language and the author aims to bring back different mythological subjects and stories into the life of the readers.

Speaking at the book launching ceremony, Panda urged everyone to study more and more books.

"Young children ought to be reading much more. Whether it is about the Puranas, or any other books, spend more time in reading. Reading anything is great. Whether it is stories, fiction, or non-fiction, it doesn’t matter. It just gives you more knowledge, it gives you more understanding," said Panda.

Chief Historian Professor Kamala Kanta Dash also graced the book launch event.
