Salman Khan in Garv
Film trade analysts were very much skeptical of how Bollywood will fare in 2024 since none of the Khans (Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir) have a release this year. Although some big-budget movies like Hrithik Roshan's Fighter, Akshay Kumar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Ajay Devgn's Maidaan did release in the first two quarters of 2024 they failed to reach the success level that usually an SRK or Salman Khan-movie achieves.
Apart from big multiplexes and cinema houses even small theater owners in towns and rural areas have suffered badly since BMCM and Maidaan failed to meet the expectations and attract the crowd to the theaters. Surprisingly though a 20-year-old movie by Salman Khan titled Garv which was a sort of semi-hit when it was released is making enough money so that the small theater owners can hold on to their business a bit.
Salman Khan's movie "Garv" has been re-released in limited cinemas, especially in Uttar Pradesh, and is doing well at the box office. #SalmanKhan #Garv @BeingSalmanKhan @TheShilpaShetty 🎥👏🌟

Famous trade analyst, Girish Johar in his recent tweet shared this interesting information. In his tweet, the producer and film analyst wrote, "Some minor relief for cinemas up North (mostly Uttar Pradesh) as #SalmanKhan #ArbaazKhan #AmrishPuri 's #GARV had been re-released and doing decently well at the local #BoxOffice."
Apart from Salman Khan, the movie also stars Arbaaz Khan and Shilpa Shetty. According to Bollywood Hungama, Joginder Mahajan has confirmed that they re-released Garv in the North belt four weeks ago. Mahajan said that he has re-released the movie in 50 theaters and even explained the reason behind it.
According to Joginder Mahajan, "It’s been 20 years since the film was released. And it was not digitized. We digitized it. Moreover, Salman Khan didn’t come with a film this Eid. Hence, we thought of releasing this film during the festival. It was Ultra’s decision. Also, Salman films do well in Delhi/UP.”

What worked in the movie's& favour was that Garv is a complete masala flick with a lot of action and a comment on politics. The film distributor believes that currently India is going through Lok Sabha Elections and that can be one reason why Garv is receiving a decent response. And of course it once again establishes the fact that old or new movie, Salman Khan does hold a monopoly when it comes to delivering blockbusters during Eid.
