When Shatrughan Sinha ‘picked up’ a fight with Amitabh Bachchan on shooting sets and argued

Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha are two big names in Indian cinema. Both the BTown biggies ruled the silver screen in the 70s and 80s. Even they have shared the screen space multiple times during those days. The duo shares a good bond to date and share a mutual respect for each other.

But, did you know that Shatrughan Sinha once ‘picked up’ a fight with Amitabh Bachchan on the shooting sets and argued?

Sinha, during an interview, revealed that the Sholay actor was his rival and shed light on the particular incident when he 'picked up' a fight with Bachchan.

During the interview with Zoom TV, Kaalicharan actor said that his rivalry with Bachchan started in 1979 on the sets of Yash Chopra's Kaala Pathaar. 

Fans are well aware that Sinha and Bachchan starred in the movie and the characters they played were rivals. But, a particular fight scene in the movie was altered in the favour of BigB. 

Recalling the incident, Sinha said, "It was not intentional. We were shooting amicably. There was a fight scene between me and Amitabh which was choreographed by Master Shetty. While fighting at one point, my dupe falls and his dupe puts a spade on my dupe’s neck. I was watching all of it while sitting in a corner because I don't interfere in a film's shooting."

Further, he went on to add that he and Bachchan have been good friends since their struggle days.

"But, in those days, romanch ka chakkar ho ya romance ka chakkar ho, uss samay kuch hua.(Whether it was about thrill or romance, but something happened that time). I told them that it was not in the script but Amitabh's team approved of the scene," he added.

Further, Sinha stated that he protested against the change and in the scene but to no avail. However, the decision of who was stronger could not be made that day.

Well, though the living legends didn't literally fight, Sinha picked the 'fight' scene with Amitabh Bachchan for an argument. 

Apart from Kaala Pathaar, the duo has starred in Dostana, Shaan, and Naseeb. However, Sinha opted not to do films with BigB though he had a lot of films. Walking out of those movies, Sinha also returned the signing amounts.

To date, Sinha and Bachchan share a close bond which is quite evident from their stories and gestures when they appear together.

Earlier, the duo when appeared on a chat show, revealed their decade-long friendship. They recalled the good old times in the industry and how they would hang out together in the same flat even when they were new in the industry. Further, they also revealed about talking about each other’s numerous girlfriends.
