Nitesh Kumar Sahoo

Actor Amitabh Bachchan needs no introduction. He is dubbed as the 'Millennium star' and an institution in himself. The living acting legend has proved his mettle as a singer as well. Every aspirant as well as existing actors pan the country look up to him as an inspiration as he has many things to learn from.

But, did you know, who is the inspiration of the living legend?

None other than Dilip Kumar, another acting legend of Indian Cinema, is the inspiration of BigB.

BigB himself revealed it in his social media post. Sharing some throwback pictures and a letter written by Dilip Kumar, he captioned the post: What can one say when you receive the blessings from THE Ultimate actor DILIP KUMAR, my idol and inspiration. (Sic)

The Black actor shared a collage of throwback pictures featuring himself and Dilip Kumar. In his letter, Dilip Kumar highlighted the tribute given by Amitabh.

The letter read: On Amitabh and my admiration--- My Dear Amitabh: With tears of pride in her eyes Saira handed over the printout of your eloquent tribute to my work in your blog. I read it once, then again and again. As you yourself would be keenly aware, we actors are completely oblivious of ourselves and our surroundings while we perform and, even when we watch our work in the rushes shown to us, our senses and vision are trained to detect shortcomings more than accomplishments.

In recent times, I can remember Black and, if I remember right, Saira and I were at a loss for words at the premiere night, after the curtain came down to express our myriad feelings of admiration for your outstanding performance. It is a pity the film missed the Oscar nomination. If any Indian actor, in my personal opinion, deserves the world's most coveted award, it is you.

Further, the letter read, "I have heard so much about Paa which we didn't catch up with. You know how Saira is- she never could see me die in my films and she could not muster the courage to see your death scene in Paa."

"Thank you, Amitabh, for your warm love and good wishes. May God keep you, Jaya, and your family happy always," the letter concluded.

Both the legendary actors worked together in Shakti (1982). On the other hand, Amitabh and Saira teamed up for Hera Pheri and Zameer. Though Amitabh hasn't worked with Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu in many films, they share a good bond and mutual respect for each other. Undeniably, movie lovers must have treasured the moments of watching the acting stalwarts in the same frame.
