In the glitzy world of cinema, there’s always chatter about the staggering wealth of the heroes. But have you ever stopped to wonder - who is the richest actress in India?

The first names that will pop up in the minds are Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. However, there’s one superstar whose wealth surpasses them all. This leading lady not only ruled the silver screen but also amassed a fortune that’s truly awe-inspiring.

Here we bring the story of India’s richest actress - a tale of glamour, power, and unimaginable wealth. This is the story of a popular actress-politician, J Jayalalithaa.

Jayalalithaa: The Enigma Behind The Opulence

Born in 1948, her tryst with the camera began as a child artiste in the Kannada film 'Sri Shaila Mahathme'. But it was the Tamil and Telugu film industries where she became a household name, enchanting audiences with her performances and sharing the screen with legends like NT Rama Rao and MG Ramachandran.

Jayalalithaa's journey from the silver screen to the political arena is nothing short of a cinematic saga. In 1980, she stepped into politics putting her film career on pause. Her transition to politics saw her becoming an equally formidable force, serving as Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister for five terms between 1991 and 2016. Her political acumen was as much talked about as her acting prowess, making her a figure of immense power and influence.
