Drugs Trafficking: Odisha STF Nabs Wanted Criminal From Hyderabad

The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch has nabbed a hardcore interstate drug trafficker who was absconding for the past one year.

The accused, Thyilshyam Sunder was arrested by a team of STF and Malkangiri district Police from Hyderabad on April 8. He was wanted in connection with a NDPS case registered by Chitrakonda Police in 2021.

As per reports, the Chitrakonda police had seized around 1051 Kg of Ganja (dry cannabis) during patrolling on October 3, 2021. One N Balu of Ambagipeta in Andhra Pradesh was arrested in connection with case.

During interrogation, accused Balu confessed that he was transporting the contraband on the instructions of ThyilShyam Sunder.

“On getting credible inputs, a raid was conducted at Amberpet area in Hyderabad and the accused ThyilShyam Sunder was arrested. The accused has been brought to Malkangiri on a transit remand after his production before Addl. Chief Metropolitan Court, Hyderabad,” the STF said in a release.
