9-year-old boy branded with hot object in Cuttack for being mischievous

In an inhuman act, a nine-year-old boy was allegedly branded with a hot object, thrashed by his uncle and aunty for being stubborn and mischievous. The incident took place in Cuttack’s CDA Sector 7 under Markat Nagar Police limits on Saturday. 

As per reports, the minor boy was quite stubborn and mischievous. After failing to restrain him, the boy’s uncle and aunty first branded him with a hot object and then thrashed him badly. An FIR has been lodged against the duo over the incident by the victim’s grandmother. 

It is pertinent to mention here that the victim resided with his uncle and aunty after his mother passed away. 

“After his mother passed away, they (the accused) assured to take over the entire responsibility of the child. They also committed allow him to interact with us through video calls every day. However, lately, they restricted our grandson to connect with us through video calls and didn’t even receive our voice calls,” said Madan Mohan Raut, the victim’s grandfather.

Further, he went on to add, “Whenever they allowed him to talk to us, they warned him to interact for less time. Recently during Dussehra, they took him away from us with false promises and tortured him.”
