Odia serial crew member killed, 4 others critical in road mishap in Cuttack

A crew member of a popular Odia daily soap was killed while four others are battling for their lives in a tragic road mishap on Kuakhai Bridge near Trisulia in Odisha's Cuttack district. Three women, all members of a TV serial, were returning home by car when the bone-chilling accident occurred.

As per reports, three women from the Salepur area were on their way home after finishing shooting at around 2-2:30 am when a speeding truck hit their vehicle, killing one of the women on the spot. The two other women and the car driver sustained grievous injuries and have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital. The truck driver was also injured in the mishap and is undergoing treatment in SCB, reports said.

The intensity of the collision was so much that the cement-laden truck skidded off the bridge and fell onto the riverbed. The car was also completely damaged in the accident, reports said.

While the car driver has broken his limbs, the two injured women have sustained grievous injuries in their heads. The identity of the injured and the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

The exact circumstances that led to the mishap are yet to be ascertained. Police rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident. A portion of the bridge was damaged after being hit by the truck.
