Hyderabad: Delhi Daredevils all-rounder Irfan Pathan today stressed the need for girls getting educated and assured full support towards the cause of girl child.

"Education is very important for all children, especially girls. If they (girls) are given education all other things will follow and it will help in sorting out problems," Pathan said, after an interacton of Delhi Daredevils team members with adolescent girls of the `Children Home for Girls` here, as a part of an event under the `Dare to Care` association with UNICEF.

The way the girls have shared their stories clearly shows how confident they are, Pathan said.
"Girls here are confident despite their own stories of struggle," he added.

"Whatever we can do as a team or individual we will try our best in helping the girl child. I have myself been supporting initiatives for the cause of girls," he said about the Daredivils` partnership to support and protect the adolescent girls in the country.

Delhi Daredevils head coach Eric Simmons, who along with another player Venugopal Rao also attended the event, said it was a humble experience to be there. "Their (girls) stories on how they were brought here and their dreams and aspirations now after getting education are inpsirational. Teachers here have done an incredible job and lot of credit must go to them," he said.
