USA squad has been recently announced for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Gujarat-born cricketer Monank Patel will lead the American team in the marquee event which will be co-hosted by USA and West Indies.

The biggest name in the squad is Corey Anderson. The New Zealand-American cricketer is famous for his incredible 95-run knock in the IPL 2014 match for Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals.

However, some Indian cricketers who moved to USA for better opportunities have missed out from the national squad for the big event. Let’s have a look at those cricketers.

Unmukt Chand

Former India U-19 captain Unmukt Chand had stunned one and all with his decision to leave the Indian cricket circles for USA. He started playing in USA leagues as well. However, Chand was not picked for the marquee event.

Bipul Sharma

All-rounder Bipul Sharma was the hero for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2016. He had played a great role for the team’s win against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the final. He moved to USA to get better opportunities. However, he has not got a place in the USA team for T20 World Cup 2024.

Siddharth Trivedi

Veteran medium pacer Siddharth Trivedi still continues to be the top wicket-taker for Rajasthan Royals in IPL to date. However, Trivedi has not been selected in the USA squad to play in the T20 WC this year despite moving to the country.

Apart from the Indian cricketers, former South African speedster Juan Theron has been residing in the USA for quite some time now. He has even played for USA team. However, the selectors did not name him in the USA squad.

The USA squad: Monank Patel (captain), Aaron Jones (vice-Captain), Andries Gous, Corey Anderson, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh, Jessy Singh, Milind Kumar, Nisarg Patel, Nitish Kumar, Noshtush Kenjige, Saurabh Nethralvakar, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Steven Taylor, Shayan Jahangir. Reserve Players: Gajanand Singh, Juanoy Drysdale, Yasir Mohammad.
