Phulbani: A nine-year-old boy suffering from sickle-cell anaemia and thalassemia was allegedly given blood of a wrong group during transfusion at the Kandhamal district headquarters hospital leading to the deterioration in his health condition.

Pravat Kumar Nayak of Tikabali had undergone blood transfusion at the hospital three days ago during which he was allegedly given B positive group blood instead of O positive, Ashok Parida of local NGO Kandhamal Vikas Parishad said.
