Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Tuesday refused to receive in a sealed cover the audit report of ‘Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation’ based on which an FIR was filed against the former Chairman of the Corporation and senior IPS officer Prakash Mishra.
The single-judge bench of Justice S C Parija asked the state government to file the same in an affidavit.
Adjudicating over the petition of Mishra in which the former DGP sought to quash the FIR, the HC also asked the government to submit a copy of the resolution of the Board of Directors of the Corporation on procedures regarding procurement of steel and cement detailing the practice followed before and after Mishra?s tenure in the Corporation, along with the affidavit
The HC had last month asked the government to furnish the audit report and the resolution copy along with an affidavit.
The matter was, however, adjourned for hearing for two weeks when the government counsel sought more time to file the affidavit.
Mishra, who is now holding a key position in Union Home Ministry, has been facing a vigilance case here on the charge of showing undue favour to some material suppliers during his tenure as Chairman of the Corporation in 2006.
The FIR was registered against him in September this year after he served as the state DGP from July, 2012 to July, 2014.
