Odisha Vigilance Department sleuths nabbed an assistant revenue inspector while receiving a bribe of Rs 10,000 at Belagaon under Saintala Police limits in Bolangir district on Tuesday. 

The arrested ARI has been identified as Reshma Majhi. 

As per reports, Basudev Nanda of Sisakela village had submitted an application to the ARI to get some documents of his landed property.

ARI Majhi had demanded Rs 10,000 from Nanda to get his work done.

With no option left, Nanda contacted the Vigilance department and subsequently a trap was laid. 

While receiving the demanded amount of money from middleman Mantu Nanda, the Vigilance officers swooped down on her and caught her red-handed. Both Reshma and Mantu were arrested and produced in the court. 

The vigilance teams of Bolangir, Sonepur, Bargarh and Sambalpur participated in the raid.
