Dengue Menace: Total Cases In Odisha Near 2500, Bhubaneswar & Rourkela See Big Spike In Cases

The total number of Dengue cases in the state crossed the 2,400 mark, said Odisha Public Health Director Dr Nilakantha Mishra on Friday. Till yesterday, the state recorded a total of 2,471 Dengue patients.

The total number of Dengue cases in the state crossed the 2,400 mark, said Odisha Public Health Director Dr Nilakantha Mishra on Friday. Till yesterday, the state recorded a total of 2,471 Dengue patients. However, the number is less compared to last year’s infection count, informed the senior health official. The upward trend in Rourkela of Sundargarh district and Bhubaneswar in Khordha district has become a matter of concern. So far, a total of 727 and 595 persons have tested positive for Dengue in Sundargarh and Khordha respectively. At the same time, the number of cases in Cuttack, Bolangir and Balasore is also above one hundred. Public Health Director Dr Mishra said the Health department is closely monitoring the situation and the government is on special drive mode in Sundargarh, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The number of tests has also been increased.
