Briefing about state’s preparedness to tackle the possible Cyclone, Odisha Special Relief Commissioner, Pradeep Jena informed that 20 full units of ODRAF, 17 NDRF teams, and 172 Fire Service teams have been deployed at vulnerable areas.
The average rainfall in the State in the past two days has been estimated at 156 mm while the average rainfall till date in September has been recorded at 154 mm, said the Odisha SRC.
The SRC has further instructed the Collectors that in case of any damage to communication/roads occur, the same be forthwith restored for effecting communication at the earliest.
As many as 52 NDRF teams will be pressed into service in post cyclone rescue and relief operations. 22 teams have already arrived while 30 more will reach the State by tonight.
