He added that the Chief Minister will hold a review meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) with top officials, Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) in districts. The Covid management committee will be activated again at village levels. Sarpanchs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will be given responsibility once again to keep watch on travellers entering the villages.

Decision on lockdown or other aspects will be taken after observing the situation, Jena added.

Earlier, the BMC had stated that 23 positive cases had been detected from the premier management institute.

The Civic Body has barred public entry into the campus.

The campus will be sealed until further orders are issued, a BMC order said.

According to the present order no one shall be allowed to enter inside or go outside the XIMB campus except authorized persons of BMC. All ‘inhabitants’ within the campus shall strictly remain inside. The supply of essentials and medical requirements if required will be ensured by the BMC, the order stated.

All other institutions located within the boundary of the campus will be closed. All staff and students of the institution shall have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing on Monday.

Persons tested positive will be kept in isolation in separate rooms of a single hostel and they will be under the observation by the institute authorities.
