The 20-year-long wait of Rourkela Smart City to have an airport is going to be a thing of past soon. If everything goes as expected, flights will be a reality over the city from May or June 2022. 

The Odisha government on Friday said that the much-awaited flight operations from two more airstrips in the State will begin soon. Odisha Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera said that the final decision on the roll out of flights from Jeypore in Koraput and Rangeilunda airstrips in Ganjam district has been taken by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
