Many questioned why the report has not been made public yet. Many have alleged that the government is dilly-dallying to open the Ratna Bhandar despite the order given by the High Court.

The Minister said that the condition of the Ratna Bhandar will be assessed after the laser scanning and it can be opened and repaired during the Rath Yatra. 

Damodar Mahasuar, who is in the Srimandir committee to examine the quality of the rice, alleged that the rice packets opened yesterday were suitable for cooking but the rice packets brought to Srimandir today are unsuitable to prepare bhog because it is mixed with par-boiled rice.

The rice verifying committee was formed following a meeting at Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) office on Friday night, informed Srimandir Managing Committee member Ananta Tiadi.

A 12-member team left from Koraput Jagannath Temple, also known as Shabara Srikshetra with one quintal of Kalajeera Rice on Friday.

Police ADG (Law and Order), Sanjay Kumar said, “Adequate security cover will be in place in Puri for the Parikrama Project inauguration as a lot of VIPs will be present. Similarly, the focus will be on ensuring hassle-free darshan for devotees."

As per the official release, the dedication ceremony of Srimandir Parikrama Project is one of the initiatives under 'Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha'  and the approved budget of Rs 4000 crore is enhanced to Rs 4214 crore.

About 30 teams comprising servitors and SJTA officials on Tuesday left for various parts of the country and state to distribute invitation cards. As per official sources, invitation cards will be handed over to religious heads of various shrines across the country.

The new battalion would have the primary responsibility of providing foolproof security to the temple. The personnel will be specially trained for better crowd management and tourist/devotee facilitation to ensure a hassle-free and orderly darshan by the devotees.
