The tainted Deputy Manager of Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Pratap Samal has been given compulsory retirement by the Government of Odisha on Thursday. The State government took the decision to retire the official over incompetency & corruption charges.
In what is said to be the biggest detection of disproportionate assets by Odisha Vigilance, the anti corruption agency traced assets worth more than Rs 14 crore belonging to an Odisha government official.
The seized ill-gotten properties, which are said to be the biggest ever catch by the State's anti-corruption agency, is reportedly over 1021 per cent of the public servant’s known sources of income.
The Deputy Manager of Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation has come under Vigilance scanner following allegations of possession of disproportionate assets. This morning, sleuths of the anti-corruption conducted simultaneous house searches at 10 places associated with Pratap Kumar Samal.
