Crorepati Odisha Babu With Property Over 10 Times Of Income, Arrested

In what is said to be the biggest detection of disproportionate assets by Odisha Vigilance, the anti corruption agency traced assets worth more than Rs 14 crore belonging to an Odisha government official.

The tainted official, Pratap Samal, who is the deputy manager of OPHWC (Odisha Police Housing Welfare Corporation), was arrested by the Vigilance sleuths today. As per latest reports, disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 14.87 crore belonging to Samal have been detected.

According to sources, Samal and his spouse were found in possession of huge disproportionate assets, which is around 1,021% or 10 times the income of the govt official.

As many as 25 plots belonging to Samal and his family members were found by the Vigilance sleuths, and the agency has estimated the value of these plots to be around Rs 3.41 crores.

Meanwhile, the Vigilance department has registered cases against Samal and his wife.
