Odisha reported online fraud to the tune of Rs 1.28 crore in August this year. The data was released by the Cyber Help Desk of Bhubaneswar Urban Police District (UPD).
At a time when Covid-19 pandemic is taking a heavy toll on the lives of people, some fraudsters are using it as an opportunity to make some quick bucks by duping gullible people in the guise of supplying them essential medicines.
A case in this regard has been lodged at the Nemalo Police Station by Panda following which an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
